What “free” means here
Every Kitchen Monk page can be read, used, printed, and shared at no cost, with no account, email sign-up, insurance, or book purchase. Many pages also link to independent organizations, which set their own costs. We label those links so no one is surprised:
- FREE: no cost, no sign-up
- FREE WITH REGISTRATION: no cost, but asks for an email or account
- SOME FREE RESOURCES: free materials alongside paid options
- PAID OPTIONAL PROGRAM: costs money; never required
- CLINICAL SERVICE — COST/INSURANCE MAY APPLY: care from a licensed clinician, including shared medical appointments. A free curriculum does not make the appointment free.
Free education is not free healthcare. Kitchen Monk never says otherwise.
What it is, and what it isn’t
Kitchen Monk™ is free health education and community connection. It is not medical care, a clinic, a telehealth service, emergency care, or medical nutrition therapy, and it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. The website is not the clinician. It never asks patients to stop medications, and it tells them to check with their own clinician before big diet or activity changes, especially if they take medicine for blood sugar or blood pressure. It points people to registered dietitians for medical diets and to 988 or 911 in a crisis.
Honest status: content is written by Nathanael Elijah Smith, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, DipACLM, with AI-assisted drafting and internal clinical review. Independent external review has not yet been completed. Programs and groups we link to are run by independent organizations. Trust & Transparency →
🔍 Healthcare professionals: we welcome your review. Spot something inaccurate, outdated, or unhelpful for your patients? Tell us and we’ll fix it. Please don’t include patient information. For the nursing team: Flourishing Nursing: Community Support to Share with Patients ↗

Kitchen Monk™ is independent. Listing a clinic, program, or organization does not mean it endorses Kitchen Monk, and sharing Kitchen Monk does not mean your practice endorses anything here beyond what you choose to recommend.
