Kitchen Monk™ grows from a personal hope: that love can become nourishment, welcome, and practical support. We honor Ken, Nina, and Nathanael—three generations whose names help tell the story behind this garden.

The Names at the Heart of This Garden

Before a garden becomes a place where others gather, it begins with a story.

At the heart of this work are three names, held in this order: Ken, Nina, and Nathanael.

Ken—my grandfather. His name is honored first, remembering the generation before us and making room for family remembrance within the work we are growing today.

Nina—my mother. Her name follows his, with love and gratitude. This dedication gives her a visible place in the story: a mother whose life matters, whose name deserves to be spoken with tenderness, and whose relationship with her son belongs at the heart of this work.

Nathanael—her son. My name means “God has given.” Here, I receive those words as an expression of gratitude: the gift God gave my mother, and the opportunity I have to carry love forward through compassion and service.

These names connect three generations. Through Kitchen Monk™ and Flourishing Nursing, I hope to turn that gratitude into something useful: food that nourishes, learning that welcomes, community that connects, and care that helps people flourish.
