🌲🤍 Honoring compassion in action
EVERgreen Guardians™ honors examples of compassion in action: people who preserve dignity, notice those who feel forgotten, and offer the care they would hope to receive themselves.
Guided by compassion. Grounded in dignity. Inspired by the question: “What would Jesus do?”
These honors grow from the EVERgreen Oath™ and from the Golden Rule: treat others with the care, dignity, and compassion you would hope to receive. We welcome examples from around the world, while knowing we will never find every compassionate person who has quietly made a difference.
Memorial tributes
🌲🤍 In remembrance
Mother Teresa
Honorary EVERgreen Guardian™
Compassion and Service
Historical inspiration · Memorial tribute · Includes her 1979 Nobel Peace Prize speech
Four kinds of recognition, kept clearly apart
🕯️ Historical memorial tributes. Carefully sourced remembrances of people who have died, such as Mother Teresa. They describe documented acts of care and never suggest the person took part in our work.
🌲 Living honorees. People recognized during their lives, featured only with their permission. We will not publish a living honoree’s profile, or suggest they have accepted an honor, until they agree.
📖 Community stories. Stories of everyday kindness shared with the consent of the people involved.
🤝 Confirmed collaborators. People who actually work with us, described by their real roles. Collaborators appear elsewhere, such as the Flourishing Nursing Network, never mixed in with memorial tributes.

Questions about this honor
What is an EVERgreen Guardian™?
An honorary recognition within the Kitchen Monk™ and Flourishing Nursing™ ecosystem for documented acts of compassionate care. It is not a license, certification, clinical credential, membership, or award from any outside institution.
Does recognition mean the person is perfect, or that we agree with all of their views?
No. Recognition honors specific acts of care. It does not declare that anyone lived flawlessly, endorse every belief they held, or imply that they participated in our organization.
How is this different from Flourishing Guardians™?
Flourishing Guardians™ is our story program for children and families. Flourishing Coaching Guardians honors living coaches whose work we recommend. EVERgreen Guardians™ honors compassion in action across all of life. We keep the three separate.
Do I need to share your faith to nominate someone?
No. We are rooted in Christian compassion and welcome every person. Compassionate people of every faith and of no faith are welcome here.
