🪷🪔 People Who Helped Light the Kitchen Monk Path

A living dedication to mentors, leaders, communities, and difficult experiences that helped clarify how Kitchen Monk™ and Flourishing Nursing™ can serve with more compassion, transparency, and courage.

Some people light the path through mentorship. Some through collaboration. Some through challenge. We honor the lesson and carry the light forward.

🪔 Florence Nightingale — Carrying the Lamp

Her legacy reminds us to observe carefully, document honestly, protect dignity, and turn what we learn into better care.

🌿 Lisa McCarl — Where Nursing Meets Adventure

Lisa McCarl’s nursing, health-policy, and travel background represents a combination we deeply value: care, preparation, community, and practical guidance. We highlight her public work with the National Health Association’s travel program as an independent resource.

🌿 Wanda Huberman — Building Plant-Based Community

Wanda Huberman’s leadership with the National Health Association helps connect education, plant-based living, events, and travel into a long-term community.

🐅 Dr. Robyn Tiger — Turning Stress Into a Lesson About Well-Being

A difficult travel and medical-cancellation chapter became part of the inspiration for clearer travel-protection resources. Dr. Tiger later responded to a request for help and contacted the travel provider on our founder’s behalf. We acknowledge that corrective action and carry forward the lesson: well-being should include less avoidable stress, clearer communication, and compassionate pathways when health changes.

🩺 Nursing Leadership Matters

Experiences within the Lifestyle Medicine community also strengthened our belief that nurses need meaningful representation, psychologically safe ways to raise concerns, and leadership that listens when conversations become difficult.

🌿 Explore the National Health Association

We enthusiastically encourage people to explore NHA’s education, recipes, events, community, and plant-based travel as independent resources. No formal partnership or endorsement is implied unless separately confirmed in writing.

A Living Dedication. Living professionals named here are recognized for lessons, public work, or experiences that helped shape our path. Inclusion does not imply that they endorse Kitchen Monk™ or Flourishing Nursing™, and it does not imply a formal partnership unless confirmed in writing.

🪔 The Lamp Remains Lit™.

🐅 More calm, gratitude and self-care

We want Dr. Robyn Tiger’s public themes of calm, breathing, mindfulness, restorative sleep, movement, healthy food, connection, nature, resilience and sustainable self-care to inspire more of the practical tools we share.

🪔 The Second Lamp — Kelly Freeman

In our founder-created Living Lamp narrative, Florence Nightingale is the historical first lamp. Kelly Freeman is recognized as the Second Lamp because nursing leadership and workforce-development lessons connected with her public role helped activate, clarify, and accelerate the modern purpose of Flourishing Nursing™.

This is an honorary Flourishing Nursing™ recognition. It does not imply that Kelly Freeman has accepted the title, endorsed our organization, or authorized this recognition.
