🌿 Our general SOS-free tips for peanut sauces
We haven’t yet checked each ingredient in Chef Robin’s video, so these are general Kitchen Monk tips, not changes to her recipe. She didn’t write, test, or approve them. ⏳ Not kitchen-tested.
- 🥜 Peanut butter: choose one made from peanuts only, with no added salt, sugar, or oil.
- 🧂 Soy sauce, tamari, or miso: these add salt. For a strict SOS-free sauce, leave them out and brighten with lime, garlic, ginger, and a pinch of chili.
- 🌴 Sweetness: blend in a soft date instead of sugar, honey, or syrup.
- 🥥 Creaminess: thin with water; skip coconut milk to keep saturated fat low.
⚠️ Peanut allergy? This sauce isn’t for you; sunflower-seed butter is an idea (untested). 🧮 No nutrition numbers are shown because we haven’t calculated this recipe.
