Lifestyle Telemedicine
Online video visits with board-certified lifestyle medicine physicians, who focus on food, movement, sleep, stress, and connection. It’s led by our friend Anthony Masiello.
🏷️ Which name is current?
✅ Today: Lifestyle Telemedicine (lifestyletelemedicine.com). Anthony is introduced as its Founder and CEO on The Exam Room podcast (June 29, 2026). Some interviews call him co-founder, and the practice’s website doesn’t list leadership titles.
🗂️ Earlier names: Anthony co-founded Plant Based TeleHealth in 2019. Interviews from 2022–2025 call it Love.Life Telehealth, after it became part of John Mackey’s Love.Life. You may hear Nathanael or others say “Love.Life telemedicine”; that is the older name.
🔎 Lifestyle Telemedicine’s website doesn’t mention Love.Life today, and its YouTube channel still carries the old “plantbasedtelehealth” web address. A Love.Life Telehealth page is still online at love.life, but we couldn’t confirm how it relates to Lifestyle Telemedicine now, so we don’t present it as a separate current service. Other Love.Life services aren’t part of Anthony’s organization unless Lifestyle Telemedicine says so.

The Evolution of Lifestyle Telemedicine with Kim Scheuer, MD and Anthony Masiello
🎙️ Rochester Lifestyle Medicine Institute · Recorded · date not shown in the sources we could read
A good first look: Anthony and Dr. Kim Scheuer, one of the practice’s physicians, talk about how lifestyle-focused telemedicine has grown. Press play when you’re ready; it won’t start by itself here.
🩺 What Lifestyle Telemedicine offers
💳 Video appointments (paid). Visits with board-certified physicians who treat lifestyle as first-line care and prescribe medication when needed. Their FAQ lists $199 for 30 minutes and $350 for 60 minutes (checked October 9, 2026).
🧪 Assessments (paid). Heart Health, Metabolic Health, and Health & Wellness assessments: a one-hour visit, labs at a Quest Diagnostics center, and a 30-minute follow-up to review results. Prices aren’t listed on that page.
🤝 Partner programs (paid, run by partners). The site lists the McDougall 12-Day Program, MAVY Wellness, the L-Nutra diabetes remission program, Plant Docs Jumpstart, the Rochester Lifestyle Medicine Institute 15-Day Jumpstart, and Naomi Green’s Plants Over Pills.
🌍 International consults (paid). For people outside the U.S. These doctors can’t order labs or prescribe there; they suggest tests to get locally and talk through medications to discuss with your own clinician.

💻 What lifestyle-focused telemedicine involves
📱 A video visit from home on a phone, tablet, or computer, through a secure patient portal.
🥦 Lifestyle comes first. Doctors look at eating, movement, sleep, stress, and social connection as treatment, alongside conventional care.
🧫 Labs nearby. If tests are needed, you go to a local Quest or Labcorp location.
🧾 Paying for it. They’re out-of-network and don’t bill insurance. You can use HSA/FSA funds and ask for a superbill to request reimbursement from your plan.
🚑 Not for emergencies. For chest pain, trouble breathing, or any emergency, call 911. Keep your regular clinician in the loop about any outside care.
🙋 Who may find it useful
🌱 People who want a doctor trained in lifestyle medicine to help with conditions such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol.
💪 Generally healthy people. Their FAQ says you don’t need a diagnosis to book, for example to work on energy, weight, or lab numbers.
👨👩👧 Families who want a plant-based-friendly physician alongside their usual care.
Whether it’s right for you depends on your health, your state, and your budget. Lifestyle Telemedicine decides clinical eligibility, not Kitchen Monk.
🗺️ Is it available where I live?
Doctors can only see patients in states where they’re licensed. Lifestyle Telemedicine says its doctors together cover most, if not all, U.S. states and D.C. Each doctor’s page lists the states where they take new patients, and a couple of doctors don’t see patients enrolled in Medicare.
✅ Before you book: pick your state on their “Find Your Doctor” page and check who is accepting new patients there.
💳 Using Your Insurance with Lifestyle Telemedicine
Lifestyle Telemedicine is out-of-network and does not bill insurance directly, so there are no plans it “takes” for us to list. Patients can still use their coverage in the ways below.
Ways to put your coverage to work
- Call your health plan before you book. Ask about out-of-network telehealth benefits, your deductible, and what paperwork reimbursement requires.
- Ask Lifestyle Telemedicine for a superbill and submit it to your plan. Reimbursement isn’t guaranteed.
- Use HSA or FSA funds, which it accepts.
- On Medicare? Its FAQ doesn’t address Medicare, and some of its physicians are listed as not seeing Medicare patients. Ask before booking and don’t assume reimbursement.
Lifestyle services insurance may cover elsewhere
These Medicare-covered services are delivered in-network by other clinicians, not by Lifestyle Telemedicine:
- Medical nutrition therapy with a registered dietitian, for diabetes, kidney disease or a recent kidney transplant, with a doctor’s referral. You pay nothing if you qualify. (Medicare.gov)
- Obesity behavioral counseling in primary care, for a BMI of 30 or more. You pay nothing if your provider accepts assignment. (Medicare.gov)
- Cardiac rehabilitation and intensive cardiac rehab after qualifying heart conditions or procedures. You pay 20% after the Part B deductible in a doctor’s office. (Medicare.gov)
- Your in-network primary care clinician can coordinate covered labs, screenings and referrals. Private plans vary, so ask yours what preventive and lifestyle counseling it covers.

🤝 A Possible Future: Nurses, Food & Lifestyle Telemedicine
Our sister site, Flourishing Nursing™, is exploring whether qualified nurses might one day work alongside Anthony Masiello’s organization, Lifestyle Telemedicine. The hoped-for benefit for you is to connect practical food and lifestyle education, like Kitchen Monk’s recipes and guides, with appropriately licensed clinical care, so what you learn in the kitchen is supported by your care team.
Nothing has been agreed. There is no partnership, nurse service or insurance billing in place, and Lifestyle Telemedicine’s care is currently provided by its physicians on a self-pay basis.

Kitchen Monk explains this service for everyday life. Flourishing Nursing looks at what it means for nursing teams, patient education, and team-based care.
🤝 Lifestyle Telemedicine is an independent healthcare service that sets its own terms, fees, and clinical eligibility. Kitchen Monk has no business, referral, or financial relationship with it and receives nothing for this page. We feature it because its leader, Anthony Masiello, is founder Nathanael Elijah Smith’s friend (see the Chief Flourishing Hugger™ tribute on Anthony’s page, an honorary title, not a role). This page doesn’t mean Lifestyle Telemedicine endorses Kitchen Monk, and it isn’t a recommendation for your individual care. Service details, prices, and availability come from lifestyletelemedicine.com as of October 9, 2026, and can change, so please confirm on their site before booking. 🔄 We check this page in our weekly review.
