🌿 Our description: A thick, smoky black bean soup made without oil: red onion and lots of garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, tomato paste, and a cup of smooth salsa, with part of the soup blended for body. Avocado, lime, and cilantro on top.
🔄 Make It the Kitchen Monk Way
Already oil-free. Three ingredients add salt, so here’s the strict salt-free version:
| In the original | Kitchen Monk suggestion | Status |
|---|---|---|
| ½ teaspoon salt | Leave out; finish each bowl with a squeeze of lime and extra cilantro | Suggestion, not tested |
| Low-sodium black beans | No-salt-added black beans, or 3 cups cooked from dry | Suggestion, not tested |
| 1 cup jarred salsa | A no-salt-added salsa, or blend 1 cup fresh tomatoes with onion, jalapeño, lime, and cilantro | Taste and adjust |
| Tomato paste | Choose no-salt-added | Label check |
| Avocado topping | Keep: a whole plant fat, in a modest portion | As written |
📊 The creator’s nutrition figures describe the original, not this version; ours is not calculated yet. Yield, time, and equipment stay about the same. Building flavor without salt →
